1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice , 1/ teaspoon salt, and the same amount of dijon mustard are added and whisked further, 1 teaspoon of oil is added to the mixture at  a time, till 1 and a half cups of oil is used. 

The solution is whisked continuously when the oil is being added. When the sauce starts to look opaque, it means that the mixture has been emulsified. A little lemon juice or water is added if the mayonnaise becomes stiff. The mayonnaise is then seasoned to taste.

Mayonnaise is considered to be beneficial for providing hair strength and is often applied as a hair mask or used as a conditioner to make the hair shiny and smooth.

 Mayonnaise applied to rough or chopped skin, adds to moisture, because of the presence of emollients and fats. It also removes the dead skin of the feet and the elbows and for soothing the sun burnt skin, helping the skin to heal. 

The high content of vitamin E, omega-3 and omega-6 in mayonnaise is beneficial for heart health and prevents the risk of heart attack and stroke if taken in the correct amounts set by the ADA.

It also promotes the health of the nail and prevents the nails from becoming brittle, weak and dry. Mayonnaise is applied to the skin to prevent wrinkles because of the presence of eggs which play a role in adding plumpiness and volume to the skin.
