  • In a food processor, crush the walnuts. Preheat the oven to 350℉.
  • In a bowl, mix the walnuts, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Cut the phyllo dough in half and trim them so that it fits the pan properly. Butter the pan. 
  • Cover the sheets of the phyllo dough to help it retain moisture. Put the sheets of the phyllo dough onto the pan and butter them from the top too. Apply nut mixture. Do the same with other sheets and stack them. Bake for 1 hour.
  • In medium heat, simmer sugar, water, and lemon juice. Add honey as well and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool. Add the syrup over Baklava.
