  1. Wash and rinse the rice thoroughly in cold water until the water runs clear. Then durian the rice using a colander. 
  1. In a bowl, pour 1 cup of water and soak 1 cup of rice in it. Mix it well till the water looks a bit cloudy.
  1. Then transfer the rice along with the water to a plastic container. Close the lid and leave the container at room temperature for 12- 24 hours. During this fermentation period, water will absorb all the important vitamins and minerals from the rice. 
  1. If you are not going to use the rice water right away, refrigerate it before it goes bad.
  1. For ease of application, pour the rice water into a travel-sized shampoo bottle or a small jar.

How to use it?

Proceed with your normal hair care or shower routine. After you are done shampooing and conditioning your hair, give your hair a final rinse with rice water. Apply the rice water directly into your scalp and let it sit for at least 2 minutes. 

It is your choice to either wash your hair with plain water after applying rice water or not. I like to leave the rice water in my hair and let them air dry.
