Can you eat pepper x?

In this brief guide, we will answer the question “can you eat pepper x?”. We will answer the questions: what is pepper x, what is the history of pepper x, what does pepper x look like, what does pepper x taste like, how does pepper x compare to other peppers, can you cook pepper x, and how to handle pepper x.

Can you eat pepper x?

Yes, you can eat pepper x but this must be considered in moderation. Although nothing physically permanent can happen to you from eating a pepper x, it is extremely dangerous when one has a pre-existing condition like an allergy.

What is pepper x?

Pepper x is the world’s hottest pepper with a Scoville scale of 3.18 million units. It was the outcome of multiple cross breedings that resulted in an unusually high level of capsaicin in the pepper’s locules. Pepper x is two times as spicy as the “Carolina Reaper” spices.

What is the history of Pepper x?

  • Pepper x was created by Ed Curie, who realised that the chilli pepper he was consuming was too mild. He began by exploring an alternative pepper that is quite hotter than the one he has been consuming without losing the usual flavour he gets from the chilli pepper.
  • The Guinness book of world Records is yet to validate them. The “First We Feast” channel created a web series in which the host and his interview subjects eat a series of increasingly spicy chicken wings.

They now sell a hot sauce called “The Last Dab,” which is named after the show’s tradition of inviting guests to add one more dab of sauce to their final, spicier wing. The active component in the original ‘Last Dab’ sauce is pepper x.
  • On September 19, 2017, Pepper x made its debut on the “First We Feast” channel in the video “Everything You Need to Know about the Last Dab, the Hottest Sauce on Hot Ones”.

What does pepper x look like?

Pepper x resembles a Carolina Reaper chilli in appearance, being bulbous and typically with a scorpion-like tail or a little more elongated looking more like a Bhut Jolokia chilli. Pepper x chillis have a gritty appearance: pock-marked, gnarled, and malformed. They just seem nasty, which is appropriate given the extreme heat they carry.

What does pepper x taste like?

Although Ed Currie and PuckerButt are well recognized for breeding super-hot peppers with an actual sweet peppery taste, not just super-spice, little is known about the entire pepper x flavour. If it’s anything like the “Carolina Reaper”, then the chilli will have a sweet fruitiness to it, especially when first chewed before the heat hammer drops.

How does pepper x compare to other peppers?

Pepper x is considered the hottest pepper ever. Its extreme heat is almost beyond words.

  • When pepper x is even compared to the current official hottest chilli pepper in the world, the “Carolina Reaper” species with 1,400,000 to 2,200,000 SHU, the pepper x is exponentially hotter. At its maximum, pepper x can be at least twice as hot as the mildest Reaper.
  • When pepper x is compared to the hottest habanero, it is at the upper end of eatability and very hot chilli in its own right.
  • When compared to the mildest possible habanero, pepper x is arguably thirty one (31) times hotter.
  • When compared to the “Bhut Jolokia” species, also known as ghost pepper, pepper x is four times (4) hotter.
  • Compared to a max Reaper, it still overpowers it by nearly a million Scoville Heat Units (SHU).

Can you cook pepper x?

It’s impossible to find this super-hot chilli fresh, just like it’s impossible to get its seeds.

So, for the time being, cooking with it is out. Even if it were, we would not advise amateurs or even semi-professionals to attempt cooking with them.

How to handle pepper x?

Pepper x is handled with the utmost attention and employs numerous safety precautions.

You cannot handle pepper x without culinary gloves, goggles, and possibly a gas mask, you can not approach this amount of heat.

Chilli burns produced by mishandling pepper x can be serious and last for a long time. Even typical chilli burn cures are unlikely to help in such situations. For this one, we recommend leaving the cooking to the pepper experts.
