  • Simple crab stuffed mushrooms: Oven is preheated at 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Cooking spray is used to spray a baking sheet. Mushrooms are cleaned. Crabmeat is pressed with a spoon after putting it in a strainer. Crab, mayo, herbs, onion, are mixed after they are fully dried. 
  • Stuff each mushroom with the crab meat mixture, then sprinkle with paprika and oregano. Bake for ~20 minutes. For a crispier top, increase cooking temperature to 425 degrees Fahrenheit, then cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until tops are visibly crisp
  • Dressed crab: Crab is pushed down by our hand. The crab’s body is separated from the shell by pulling quite hard. This body comes away in one piece. Feathery gills are discarded which are present around the main body shells. 

After extracting brown meat from the shell, it is transferred to a bowl. The main body is cut in half.  

In the middle of claws and legs, cartilage is discarded. Bowl is checked for stray shells by shaking from time to time. To neat the edges of the cavity, a pair of kitchen scissors is used. 

Spoon the white crab meat back into the shell, then top with the brown meat mixture. Scatter with parsley, if you like, and serve with mayonnaise on the side, along with the extra lemon wedges and buttered brown bread or toast.
