Infuse the flavors by simmering the water for 10 minutes after it reaches a rolling boil.

When you’re done squeezing the lemon juice, simply drop a whole lemon in your saucepan and heat it up. Unless you’re using more than two pounds of shrimp, boil them in 2 batches until they just begin to turn pink. This shouldn’t require more than 3 – 4 minutes to boil the shrimp.

With a slotted spoon, remove the shrimp from the pan and set them on ice to cool down. Serve right away or put it in the fridge to cool.
