In this blog post, we will answer the following questions: Can Vegans eat rice noodles? What does a Vegan person eat? What is raw-Vegan? What are the disadvantages of a vegan diet? We will also give you the recipe for vegan rice noodles.
Can Vegans eat rice noodles?
Yes, vegans can eat rice noodles, since they are made of rice – a plant. A vegan person follows a 100% vegetable diet, that is, a diet that excludes all types of meat, fish, and shellfish, dairy products, eggs, and honey, and rice does not fall into this category.
Rice noodles have a long history. They originated in China during the Qin Dynasty (259-210 BC) and have been consumed for more than 2,000 years in China. The Qin dynasty was the first of the reunified China, it seems that in the southern area they preferred wheat noodles, since they were not so used to eating rice.
To adapt, they began to make noodles with rice, and little by little this dish spread around the world. The ease of preparation of these noodles has made them a regular part of the diet for millions of people in China. In the US you can find them without problems in supermarkets (medium type or large stores).
They are consumed as an ingredient in soups or stews and as a main dish stir-fry or as a garnish for other dishes.

What does the vegan diet contain? What do vegans eat and what do they not eat?
People who adopt this diet do not eat meat of any kind, fish and seafood, dairy, eggs, honey, therefore they eliminate all products that are of animal origin or obtained by their exploitation. Vegans eat vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds, which usually come from organic farming. Find out more here.
Among the products included in their diet, we mention beans, lentils, seitan, butter obtained from various nuts (for example, macadamia butter), flax seeds, chia and hemp, tofu and other soy products, yeast flakes, coconut products (coconut oil, coconut butter), seaweed, sprouted seeds, cereals and pseudocereals (spelled, teff, amaranth, quinoa, rice), broccoli, cauliflower, vegetable oils, sweeteners such as agave syrups or of maple.
What are Raw Vegans and what does this diet entail?
Raw-Vegans are a group of vegans who believe that foods cooked at pre-cooked temperatures, in principle above 46 degrees Celsius, lose their nutrients and enzymes. That is why they choose to eat raw products, especially fruits and vegetables. Instead of cooking it, Raw-Vegans choose to prepare their food in the form of smoothies, mixed in a blender, or to dehydrate it.
Is vegetarianism or veganism a form of weight loss?
Foods consumed by both categories are usually low in saturated fat and cholesterol. Therefore, people who choose to follow these diets can lose weight more easily. Besides, if followed correctly, they provide a high dose of vitamins, minerals, and fiber which ensures better health.
Careful! People who choose these diets must be very careful to receive all the nutrients that their body needs.
The risks of vegetarianism and veganism
As mentioned above, one of the risks of these diets occurs when we do not provide all the vitamins and minerals needed by our body. An example of a vitamin we need to take care of is vitamin B12.
B12 deficiency can lead to anemia, cardiovascular disease, infertility, a deficient nervous system, and poor bone health. To supplement this vitamin deficiency, supplements may be given. It is recommended to consult a nutritionist before adoption and during this diet.
