Dr Ana Carolina Feitosa de Vasconcelos (PhD)
Agricultural Engineer
Dr Ana Carolina Vasconcelos has experience in Agricultural Engineering, with emphasis on Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition, working mainly on the following topics: reuse of industrial and agricultural waste in agriculture, salinity, studies of climate change and its impacts in agriculture. She writes and reviews content on these topics.
Dr Ana Carolina Vasconcelos’s Highlights:
PhD in Soil Science and Plant Nutrition at the University of Sao Paulo (Superior School of Agriculture “Luiz de Queiroz” – ESALQ), and a seven-month scholarship at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, United States. Master’s degree in Development and Environment from the Federal University of Paraiba.
Dr Ana Carolina Vasconcelos has worked on several projects, including the more than three-year Climate Change Assessment and Impact Studies in La Plata Basin, by studying the consequences of climate change on land use, on the sustainability of the soils and therefore on the rural development in La Plata Basin. CLARIS LPB project was a Europe-South America Network for Climate Change Assessment and Impact Studies in La Plata Basin.
Dr Ana Carolina Vasconcelos has also contributed to several research projects at the Federal University of Campina Grande and the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, in areas such as the Biofortification of corn plants submitted to zinc and iron fertilization, Use of biostimulants in corn and soybean plants, Vegetative growth and oilseed production under saline and water stress conditions. Her contributions to these projects as a postdoc researcher included mentoring undergraduate students.
Dr Ana Carolina Vasconcelos has articles published in renowned scientific journals, which demonstrates her multidisciplinary understanding and creativity.
In addition, she worked as a reviewer in two important scientific journals of Brazilian universities in the agricultural area, whose contributions were important for the quality of articles published in these journals.
